ROSES – and why we love them….

Roses evoke romance, love & beauty. Revered for its velvety petals and heavenly scent, it is desired in the home and garden. Roses are grown all over the world to supply the demands of the flower market. Long lasting Ecuadorean and Columbian roses are desired by florists and rose lovers of the twenty-second century. They open to lush,full blooms 3-4 inches in diameter. They lend themselves to classic arrangements as well the mod, contemporary designs of today.

Roses are sacred and symbolic to the love goddesses, Aphrodite and Venus. In ancient Rome, a wild rose is placed at the door of a room, where a secret tryst or confidential meeting is being held. “Under the rose”, is a phrase in ancient Rome, meaning “keep it a secret”. You may not want to enter a room with a rose at its door.
